How forum.mypromo.lk Works
Everything you need to know to save smarter and contribute to Sri Lanka's Deal Community.
forum.mypromo.lk is a community-powered deal forum built for Sri Lankans.
no bots, no auto-scrapers. The best deals rise to the top through community votes, so you always see what's
actually worth your time. 🇱🇰

Newer deals gaining momentum — watch these closely.
- Filter by category using the sidebar (Electronics, Restaurants, Vehicles, Hotels, Shopping, etc.) to zero in on what you want.
- Filter by district to see deals available in your area alongside island-wide offers.
- Use the search bar at the top to find deals by store name, product, or keyword.
- Browse Special Sections — Freebies,
Coupons,
Contests,
Flash Sales and more — for curated deal types.
2. Vote & Heat Up the Best Deals
Every deal has a temperature meter that rises with upvotes, comments and "Got This" clicks.
Your vote directly affects how many Sri Lankans see a deal.
▲ Upvote
This deal is genuinely good value — push it up so more people see it.
▼ Downvote
The deal is expired, inaccurate, or not a real saving — help filter it out.
Got This
Click if you actually grabbed the deal — shows real-world confirmation.
You must be signed in to vote. Voting is the #1 way to help the community without posting a deal yourself.
3. Post a Deal — Step by Step
Sharing a deal takes under two minutes. Here's how to post one that the community will love:
1Write a clear, descriptive title
Include the product name, the sale price, and the store. Example: "Samsung 55" Smart TV – Rs. 89,900 at Abans (Reg. Rs. 119,900)".
Good titles get more clicks and more upvotes.
2Set the prices
Enter both the Sale Price and Original Price. We'll automatically calculate and display the savings percentage on your deal card.
3Choose the right category & subcategory
Picking the right category helps shoppers browsing that section find your deal. After choosing a main category,
subcategory options will appear — select one to narrow it further.
4Add the deal URL & a photo
Link directly to the retailer's product page — no short links or affiliate redirects. Adding a photo makes
your deal card stand out and typically earns more votes.
5Tag the deal type
Is it a Freebie, BOGO, Flash Sale, Coupon, or Contest?
Tagging it correctly gets it featured in the right special section and in front of more people.
6Write a short description & set expiry
Note any conditions — promo code required, limited quantities, in-store only, membership required, etc.
Set an expiry date if you know it, or check Never Expires for ongoing offers.
4. Comment & Add Context
- Found a better price elsewhere? Comment on the deal so the community knows.
- Know the price history? Share it — a deal looks less impressive if an item was $10 cheaper last month.
- Know the deal expired? Comment to notify others and downvote to push it down.
- Used the coupon code and it worked? Let people know with a reply — it builds trust.
- Reply directly to other community members to start a conversation about a deal.
5. Use Special Sections to Your Advantage
Don't just browse the main feed — special sections let you hunt by deal type:
